Charles E. Stuart, 78, of Savannah, GA died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Candler Hospital. Charles Edward Stuart was born October 3, 1932 in Tellico Plains, Tennessee to Charlie and Nancy Stuart.
Charles and Lois Stuart were happily married for over 50 years. Charles is a veteran of the U.S. Army Airforce. After his career in the army, he worked as a general contractor. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, gardening, and spending time with his family. Charles was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church for over 40 years, where he served in many capacities, including as a deacon. He will be missed and forever loved by his family.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Boyd Stuart; four sons and their spouses, Paul Stuart, Brian and Sarah Stuart, Doug and Renee Stuart, Roger and Lori Stuart; and eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday August 19, 2011 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday August 20, 2011 at Immanuel Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Disease Association at alz.org.
